yesterday marks the last day of summer and I'm dreading that the weather has shown signs of autumn.
what I need to do now is to look for my tights o_o!

I recently bought this dress from karen walker. it's summer appropriate - colour, cotton fabric and the cute bird print!
you would have to agree with me that wellington is amazing in summer :)

today is one of those days that things doesn't go as planned. nevertheless, I'm gonna continue to keep my head up and live life how I would normally treat it. but maybe with precautions.

ups and downs

hello everyone *waves*

since I got back from wellington (16th february), life has been pretty hectic. as soon as I arrived in wellington, I picked up my items (fyi, more than ten boxes) from the storage. I had to do a couple of trips back and forth from my new apartment and the storage facility. the following day (9am) my summer course starts. for two weeks, my class starts from 9am - 5pm. I have no time to unpacked the boxes and used what I had brought from malaysia. the course was overwhelming. it was intensive and covered the topics of historical biogeography and talked heaps about NZ's biota southern distribution. not knowing much about biology itself, it was even worst when I had to mixed it with the history of NZ and it's separation from Gondwana ~ 80MYA.

don't ask me why I took this course in the first place :P

enough about my struggles these past month. my practical test was OK. not amazing, but I would just have to settle with it since this is not my forte. the two weeks class is finally over and the other two weeks of essay writing and a final exam preparation is done and was due on 14th february.

on another note, the summer's weather here is great. despite many people telling me that summer is almost over.

and while I was around town, I also made a few purchase, erkk..

I bought myself a juice extractor for a better lifestyle :) a beautiful cotton birdie dress from Karen Walker and made my first purchase from Ruby Boutique, a beautiful flowy skirt *triple happiness*

this is what I wore on friday night to watch 'harry potter and the deathly hallows, part 1'. even though the movie was slow I enjoyed it very much. since all the actions and hype only happens in the second half of the book, I can't wait for part 2 to come out.

went out with mom and dad for dinner at sushi zanmai, one utama. I wanted to wear something comfy and relax. this checkered shirt from zara has a suede patch on both elbows. it reminded me of those equestrians'. i was completely sold when i first laid eyes on it because it was definitely not one of those typical checkered shirts.

last saturday, Diyana and I decided to go to Sunway Lagoon for our annual trip. a great place to bond and have fun, chat and bath under the sun!

right after, we head to empire mall to have an early dinner at serai empire. Asilah joined us :)

spend the weekend with the family at the historic city, melacca. I was more excited about amani than exploring the city. my niece is a cuter version of a potato :p she smells nice, her cheeks is amazingly soft, and she laughs easily when you're around her. she looks just like her dad (my brother) but the nose is mom's.

the parking tickets was a bit tedious.

we had to 'scratch' a form for each hour. 3 forms means 3 hours.

holiday treat

holiday here has been good so far. eventhough we're in the second week of november, I can't help but feel that january, 15th (doomsday for me) is just around the corner. honestly speaking, I don't want to go back to wellington... alone.

I haven't had much opportunity to take outfit photos. I do tend to forgot them because I'm such a chatterbox when I'm out with families and friends.

Im now currently at avillion, port dickson, an hour and half drive from kuala lumpur. the hotel and it's facilities are amazing however the beach is a bummer (if you're malaysian, you know what I mean). a weekend with a very close cousin of mine whom I've always regard as a big sister is a must! along with her husband (who pays the bills, hihi thank you) and her saffiya :)

Diyana and I have a special relationship; we met when we were 7 years old in new castle, england when both our parents furthered their studies. I can vaguely remember the first time we met. my parents brought me to her house and the parents introduce us to each other. instantly we became close friends (I guess its love at first sight :P) and on the very same day, I shamelessly asked my parents' permission to sleep at her place. and the rest was history!

today, I met up with Diyana to have dinner at kinokuniya's cafe. I have always liked this place because it's quiet (kinokuniya is a bookstore) and less crowded if compared to other cafes and restaurants. its really nice to have her physically by my side (because most of the time, we skype!) :)

topshop is finally here in wellington. last weekend marked the first appearance of topshop at karen walker's store on wakefield st.

it was amazing for me to see such turn out (people were lining up to go in the store and to try out clothes). this is because topshop in malaysia is like daily necessities. we have tosphop in almost every shopping mall. but im glad that karen decided to bring them in wellington. a quick fix could help me :)

I only bought an emerald green top with peter pan collar. was not on shopaholic mode as im going back to Malaysia this saturday and the malls there are waiting for me :P

but the best part is, I got to meet Karen Walker!

the boys and I thought that it would be an ideal time to visit the beach and enjoy the sun while we can (one thing you have to know about wellington's weather is that it's so unpredictable-one moment it's bright and sunny and the next moment, it rains with heavy wind).

I was wearing my miu miu's inspired heel :) It is so comfortably-high :D

well, after days and weeks of consideration, I've decided to recreate this blog. maybe because I feel I need to make a promise to myself to stick to one thing and make it happen. or maybe because I feel I need a change. or maybe by using a ‘system’ I’m more oblige to post frequently. who knows?

my name is Umi Kalsom, I'm from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I prefer to be called, superumi in the cyberworld and have been using this name since 2007 when I first started my so-called fashion blog back then. I guess, superumi has now become the name of my alter-ego.
